Fredrik Fogelberg, agronomie doktor. Arbetar bland annat med svensk odling av allehanda trädgårdsbönor och sojabönor. Verksam vid Institutet för jordbruks- och miljöteknik (JTI) i Uppsala.

Legumes and pulses (beans, peas and lentils) are delicious, nutritious, environmentally-friendly and contribute to more sustainable agricultural practices. Many people believe that legumes are the food of the future, however, the production and consumption of legumes in Sweden is very low.
We, the people at Baljväxtakademin (translated as Legume Academy in English), founded in 2009, are convinced that an increased production and consumption of legumes can contribute to new and exciting foods, more sustainable practices, healthy eating habits and have a significantly lower environmental impact. Therefore Baljväxtakademin works in various ways to enhance the role of leguminous plants in agriculture, food and eating habits.

Baljväxtakademin is run solely by volunteers and is open to all those interested in legumes and we welcome more people to get involved.

Secretary
Monika Pearson, nutritionist and PhD, Uppsala. Works with nutritional and antinutritional aspects of pulses and also sustainable aspects in the Swedish National Food Agency’s dietary advices.
Treasurer
Fredrik Fogelberg, PhD in agronomy, is involved in growing different varities of Swedish garden beans and soybeans. He is currently employed at the Insitute of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (JTI) in Uppsala.
